100 years of Red Army: Mosin sniper rifle

Mass production of the sniper version of the legendary three-line rifle began in 1931. Compared with regular Mosin–Nagant system rifles, the sniper rifles had a better machined barrel, a bolt lever bent downwards and a clamp for telescopic sight. Over 100,000 rifles of this kind were manufactured in total. They became the weapon of legendary Soviet snipers such as Vasily Zaytsev and were used successfully during the Great Patriotic War and even after it until the Dragunov sniper rifle entered into service.
